We took a vow. It wasn't sobriety.
The Monk Club is a member’s cellar on the river. An allowance turns up every month, a deliberately short list of very good bottles sits behind it at the price the trade pays, and somebody else carries them up your stairs. Monks did the hard part nine centuries ago. We added a van.

The Rule
Three articles.
We stopped there on purpose.
The Rule of St Benedict runs to seventy-three chapters. Ours runs to three, and one of them is essentially about doorbells.
ART. I
Money turns up monthly
Credits land the day your term ticks over. Spend them across the cellar at member prices. Had a quiet month? It rolls for sixty days. Nobody here is going to punish you for a fortnight of behaving well.
ART. II
You choose. We don't.
No mystery box. No algorithm deciding you’re a rum person now. Our buyers keep the list short and will cheerfully argue for anything on it, at length, unprompted. Want more than your allowance covers? Buy it outright, same price.
ART. III
It arrives. ID gets checked.
Pick a window between 07:00 and 22:30 and we’ll be there. Identification checked at the door every single time — no offence meant, it’s simply the law, and we’re rather attached to our licence.
§ 002
Habits
Pick a habit.
Yes, that's the joke.
Singapore dollars, GST already inside them, because surprise tax at checkout is a hostile act. Commit for longer and pay less — 5% off half-yearly, 10% off yearly. That’s the entire negotiation.
Social

Connoisseur

Every habit carries a monthly ceiling. It keeps us solvent and keeps you sensible. Extra bottles are always there at member price — we’re a cellar, not a confessional.
§ 003
The Maths
Now the bit where
we ruin the fantasy.
Somebody, somewhere, has offered you unlimited premium liquor for one flat monthly fee. We genuinely wanted to build that. Then we opened a calculator, and the calculator was rude about it.
Here is one entirely ordinary bottle — 700ml, 40% ABV — and what it costs before a single person has been paid, before a courier turns a key, before we have seen one cent.
Anyone promising unlimited is either pouring you something grim, or going out of business politely. Usually both, in that order.
So we built the honest version instead. A fixed allowance, a short list we’ll defend to your face, and a discount you’re welcome to check against any shelf in town. Bring the receipt. We’ll wait.

Duty figure per Singapore Customs. Every extra bottle carries that same floor again — which is exactly why one flat fee for unlimited bottles cannot hold. The allowance prices each bottle honestly instead. Less romantic. Still here in five years.
§ 004
The Cellar
Short list.
Long arguments.
Thirty to fifty bottles at opening. Every one had to survive a genuine row in a room before it earned shelf space. Nobody can buy their way onto this list — somebody tried, and it went badly for them.

§ 005
The App
The cellar,
in the pocket.
Web store opens first, and we’re not holding anything back for the app — everything works in a browser from day one. The apps arrive later this year and simply cut the distance between wanting a bottle and having one.
I
The allowance, live
What’s left, what’s rolling over, and the day it lapses. Updates the second you spend.
II
Delivery in two taps
Pick a window, watch the courier close in, clear the ID check from the phone in your hand.
III

Scarce bottles arrive in embarrassingly small numbers. Reserve members hear before anyone else.

Inquiries
Things you'd ask
at the bar.
Credit that lands the day your term renews, spendable across the whole cellar at member prices. Whatever you don't use rolls forward sixty days. Think budget, not ration — you can always spend past it at the same price.
Because the arithmetic says no, and we'd rather tell you now than have us both find out in eighteen months. Excise duty alone is roughly S$24.64 on a standard bottle before we've bought anything at all. It's all laid out in § 003, in a table, like adults.
Yes, at the same member price, with the same free delivery. No penalty, no upsell email, no raised eyebrow from anyone.
07:00 to 22:30 daily — that's Singapore liquor licensing, not us being precious. Outside those hours we may only deliver to non-public premises: homes, offices, hotel rooms. You pick the window at checkout.
Every time. NRIC or passport at sign-up, and the courier checks again at the door. If there's nobody of age to sign, the bottle leaves with them. We know it's mildly annoying. We're doing it anyway.
Monthly memberships pause or end before your next renewal, no phone call, no retention specialist. Half-yearly and yearly run to the end of what you've paid for — that commitment is precisely what pays for the lower rate.
Web first, then iOS and Android during 2026. The app adds face unlock, allocation alerts and quicker scheduling. Nothing is being held hostage until it ships.
We do — bulk memberships, client gifting, event supply, all off the same wholesale base. Apply above and mention it when we write back. Your finance team will find us refreshingly literal about pricing.
